Schmitt Announces District Office Services in Altoona

December 4, 2018

HARRISBURG – Rep.-elect Lou Schmitt (R-Blair) today announced that he has kept the same office location in downtown Altoona as was previously operated by former Rep. John McGinnis.

The 79th District Office is located at 1331 Twelfth Ave., Suite 104, in the former Gables building. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and can be reached by telephone at (814) 946-7218.

“I am pleased to be able to continue offering constituent services at this convenient location with much the same staff that did such a wonderful job under Representative McGinnis,” said Schmitt. “One of the most important parts of my job is to be of assistance to the people I represent. I encourage anyone with a state-related question or concern to call or stop by.”

Services the office provides include:

• Driver’s license and vehicle registration applications and renewals.
• Assistance with PennDOT paperwork (lost cards, changes, corrections, special registration plates, vanity plates and temporary placards for persons with disabilities).
• Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications and paperwork done for you.
• Voter registration forms.
• State tax forms.
• Referrals to agencies to resolve state-related matters.

Schmitt also encouraged constituents to visit his website, www.RepLouSchmitt.com, for news about developments in Harrisburg and the Altoona area, and to sign up to receive periodic email updates about important legislation, state services and programs. Constituents can also interact with Schmitt through Facebook at www.Facebook.com/RepSchmitt.

Schmitt was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on Nov. 6 and will take the oath of office on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, in Harrisburg.

The 79th Legislative District is located in Blair County and made up of the City of Altoona, Logan Township and a portion of Allegheny Township.
